Sun sports is always my go to rental shop! They are incredibly friendly and welcoming the second you walk through the door. They give enough information about all of their equipment so there are no questions left unanswered. They are very accommodating and do their best to satisfy everyone's needs. When it gets a bit busy it's understandable to be flustered, but they seem to hold up very well! Would definitely recommend
We Rented a Deck Boat, Kayaks & Pedal Bikes during busy Coast Guard 2016 week and everything went perfectly. They are located on the water in downtown Grand Haven, so convenient! The Staff are extremely helpful, pleasantly engaging and fun to work with. They talked us through the best equipment to rent for our needs and took extra time to describe how to use everything we rented. The equipment is always in good working order, it's obvious they take pride in providing great service. We rent from Sun Sports every summer and it makes our stay in Grand Haven even more enjoyable!
Unless you're doing jet skis, the prices here are not high like other reviews mention. We rented two mopeds for 2 hours and it was $74. The mopeds were in decent shape and worked well enough. We'd do it again!

Customer service was sub par. Lots of employees working but mostly standing around while customers are waiting. Location where kayaks are put in is pretty gross. Water is murky and dirty (I know it's the Grand River) and filled with slimy plants and dead fish. It's nearly impossible to get in kayak from the grass, forcing you to step in the water. The tandem kayak we rented was missing the plugs so it took on water in the seat area. The paddles for the tandem kayak were too short and missing the drip rings. The trip around Harbor Island wasn't necessary pleasant and because it was a holiday weekend the boat traffic was too heavy to be in a kayak. I also didn't like that my credit card info was written down "in case there is damage." If that's the case then an inspection should be done on arrival instead of being asked to just leave the kayak at the grass hill which is a short walk from the rental facility.
