Awesome place! Just what you expect from a bed and breakfast. Quaint, charming, warm, inviting, from a different era. The house ambiance and feel were just so relaxing. We had the honeymoon suite and it was comforting and romantic, we had a private drive, private entrance, and we're secluded. We've already booked it for next year's anniversary. I can't say enough good things and Shelly the hostess just made everything fun and easy for us. Awesome place!
The Boyden House bed and breakfast was the perfect place to stay during our low key weekend in Grand Rapids. The house is perfectly located within walking distance to the musical fountain, quaint main street shops, and many delicious restaurants. Breakfast each morning included an egg dish, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, a breakfast meat, coffee, and juice. Outdoor seating was available on a few of the large porches. Our room, The Carriage House, was equipped with coffee, popcorn, a mini fridge, microwave, TV, CD player, and much more. Anything we could have possibly needed was there! There were also water bottles, Klondike bars, coffee, popcorn, water, and cookies available free of charge in the main house. Shelly was incredibly welcoming and helpful with recommendations. The house and our room were very well maintained without losing character. We were very pleased with our stay and will be back one day!
Wonderful experience! Shelly is a great host. Yummy breakfast. It's in a quiet neighborhood yet close to the lakefront, channel and restaurants. Home is breathtaking. Little details, woodwork and craftsmanship are amazing. Tastefully decorated. Reasonably priced for the area. There is a minimum stay required for the peak season and holiday time. We stayed on an early Fall weeknight which was quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend this spot.
Great place! We stayed in the honeymoon sweet and it was very nice! It was our anniversary and Shelly put out a cute (and very yummy!) chocolate cake for us! The breakfast was delicious and the seating areas were very charming. We chose to sit on a private porch and enjoyed the pretty surroundings. We also recommend going for a walk on Lafayette. There are so many pretty homes to look at and it is a great neighborhood. The house is within a 15 minute waking distance to the downtown area. We had dinner on the rooftop terrace at Kirby's. They had a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Overall, our stay at the Boyed House was wonderful! I can't say enough about it!
We went in December, and pretty much had the B&B to ourselves. It truly felt like a magical stay. The room was beyond beautiful and comfortable, the home decorated for Christmas. And the breakfast was more than I expected and delicious! it's our second visit, and plan to visit again!! Each room has a different theme. I can't believe before this I'd never been to a B&B! Only bad thing was we couldn't stay longer.
